BMW Proclaims the Debut of Two Highly-Anticipated Vehicles

In December, BMW announced that the all-new 2018 X2 crossover SUV and 2019 i8 Coupe were going to make their worldwide introductions at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. Both vehicles are scheduled for a late spring release to customers, with prices announced prior to their release.

The 2018 BMW X2 SUV showcases an athletic exterior, with a new wrinkle on the familiar kidney-shaped grille. Featuring a 2.0-liter TwinPower turbo 4-cylinder engine that's married to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the X2 makes 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The X2 will include all-wheel drive as a standard feature, providing an additional measure of control when driving in less-than-ideal weather.

The two-door 2019 BMW i8 Coupe is a plug-in hybrid that delivers an all-electric driving range of 18 miles -- which is 30 percent more than the the current model offers. Capable of generating 369 horsepower, the i8 Coupe can dash from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 4.2 seconds and features a top speed of 155 mph.

At Hilton Head BMW, we're proud to serve drivers from the Bluffton, Beaufort and Port Royal areas.
